Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026
This policy explains what personal information The Inn and Restaurant at Four Eleven York (“Four Eleven York,” “we,” “us”) collects when you visit fourelevenyork.com, book a room, reserve a table, dine with us, or contact us — and how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We’ve tried to write it plainly. If anything is unclear, email us.
The short version
- We collect what we need to host you: your contact details, booking and reservation details, and what you order or pay for.
- Our website uses cookies and similar tools from Google and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to understand how the site is used and whether our advertising works.
- To measure our ads, we may share scrambled (hashed) email addresses and phone numbers, plus basic booking details, with Meta and Google. They use this only to match against their own users — not to give us any information about you.
- We do not sell your personal information for money.
- You can opt out of advertising measurement at any time — see Your choices.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Room bookings — name, email, phone, address, stay dates, guests, preferences, and payment details. Bookings are made through our reservation provider, ResNexus.
- Restaurant reservations — name, email, phone, party size, date and time, special requests or dietary notes, and any deposit. Reservations are made through Resy; deposits are processed by Stripe.
- Dining and purchases — what you order and what you spend, recorded by our point-of-sale system. Card payments are handled by our payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
- Events and inquiries — details you provide in event, contact, or employment forms.
- Newsletter — your email address and, if you choose to share them, your name and interests.
- Website chat — the messages you type into our chat assistant.
Information collected automatically
When you use our website, we and our partners collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, the site or ad that referred you, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This is collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, including:
- Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use the site.
- Google Ads and the Meta Pixel — to measure whether our ads lead to visits, bookings, and reservations, and to show our ads to people likely to be interested.
- WordPress.com / Jetpack — site statistics, performance, and spam protection.
When you click from our site to our booking pages, we pass along identifiers (such as Google’s and Meta’s ad click IDs) so that a completed booking can be connected to the visit or ad that led to it.
How we use your information
- To confirm, manage, and deliver your stay, reservation, event, or order, and to contact you about it.
- To personalize your visit — for example, remembering a dietary preference or a special occasion.
- To send newsletters and offers, if you’ve signed up. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To measure and improve our advertising — understanding which ads and posts lead to bookings and visits, so we spend less on what doesn’t work.
- To understand and improve our website and services.
- To protect against fraud, spam, and misuse, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
Advertising measurement
Like most small businesses that advertise online, we want to know whether our ads actually bring guests through the door. To do that, we may send Meta (through its Conversions API) and Google information about completed bookings, reservations, and visits: the date, party size or stay details, the amount spent, and your email address and phone number in hashed form. Hashing converts your details into a scrambled code before it leaves our systems. Meta and Google compare that code with codes for their own users to tell us, in aggregate, how many bookings came from people who saw or clicked our ads. They do not tell us who you are, and we do not receive any information about your activity on their platforms.
Meta and Google process this information under their own terms and privacy policies. You can opt out of this measurement at any time — see below — and we will exclude your details from future uploads.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers who help us run our business and are allowed to use your information only to provide their services to us, including: ResNexus (room reservations), Resy (restaurant reservations), Stripe (deposits), our point-of-sale and payment providers, Tripleseat (event inquiries), Mailchimp and MailPoet (email newsletters), Maison (website chat), and Automattic / WordPress.com (website hosting, statistics, and spam filtering).
- Advertising and analytics partners — Google and Meta — as described above.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our guests, staff, or business.
- Business transfers — if our business is sold or reorganized, as part of that transaction.
Some booking partners, such as Resy, ResNexus, and online travel agencies, are independent companies with their own privacy policies that also apply to information you give them directly.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some state privacy laws treat sharing information with advertising partners as a “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising; you can opt out of that sharing as described below.
Your choices
- Opt out of advertising measurement and targeting. Use the button below to turn off the Meta Pixel and Google advertising cookies in this browser, and email us to have your details excluded from the booking data we send to Meta and Google.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, our website treats it as a request to opt out of advertising tracking for that browser. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals, which have no common standard.
- Marketing emails. Click “unsubscribe” in any email, or contact us.
- Cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. You can also use Google’s Analytics opt-out, Google’s ad settings, and Meta’s ad preferences.

Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and give you a copy;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- delete your information (we may keep what we must for legal, tax, or accounting reasons);
- stop using your information for targeted advertising or sharing it for that purpose.
To make a request, email info@fourelevenyork.com or call 757-963-7000. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with “Appeal” in the subject line; we will respond to appeals within 60 days. Virginia residents who are unsatisfied with the result of an appeal may contact the Virginia Attorney General.
How long we keep information
We keep booking, reservation, and transaction records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements (generally up to seven years). Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. Website analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. Data we prepare for advertising measurement is kept only as long as needed to send it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards and rely on established providers for reservations and payments. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us right away if you believe your information has been compromised.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information online. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites, including our booking partners and social media pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed; for significant changes, we will post a notice on our website.
